We are St. Paul's United Church in downtown Brampton - an Engaged Community of Faith!


We continue our Lenten journey this week.

We are celebrating International Women’s Day with our United Church Women. This year’s celebration will be honouring Lil Prouse’s ministry with St. Paul’s.  

Dr. Barbara Lloyd, a guest preacher, will reflect on Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Acts 16:11-15 with “Stop, Look and Really Listen” as the sermon title.

Thank you to everyone who supported the MUFFIN MADNESS during March.  M&O is proud to announce that we made almost $200.00 for the St. Paul’s Food Cupboard.

U.C.W. Sunday is this Sunday (March 18th). This service is dedicated to the memory of Lillian Prouse, a past president of the U.C.W. and an active member of St. Paul`s. There will be a display of pictures highlighting Lillian`s involvement in various church activities. There will be a reception after the service. The guest speaker is Dr. Barbara Lloyd who will speak on "Working for the World God Wants ". Dr Lloyd recently retired from the position of Program Coordinator for Public Witness and Congregational Engagement at The United Church of Canada`s Office in Toronto.  Dr. Lloyd has many interests and is a leader in many aspects of church life.

BramGrans Scrabble Tournament:  Our annual event for the benefit of The Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign will be held Sunday March 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Christ Church, 4 Elizabeth St N. Brampton.  There will be refreshments and prizes!  All monies are donated to projects that help Grandmothers care for their orphaned grandchildren in Sub Saharan Africa.  Tickets are $15.00 and are available from Joan Rintoul (905-451-9188).

Macy’s big Easter sale is coming for 2 weeks only starting March 18.  Check out our unique gifts and treats upstairs outside of Sanderson Hall. All proceeds go to St Paul’s and the Salvation Army Women’s Shelter.

The Book Club - Grab a coffee and join us after church on March 25 for a glimpse into the life of Agatha Christie, the world’s most famous murder-mystery writer. “Her best story yet.” A memoir.

The March Circle of Friends Pot Luck Lunch will be held on Tuesday March 27th. The speaker will be announced shortly.

YOGA - the spring sessions for Monday evening yoga for ladies starts on Monday March 25 and the Tuesday morning yoga for men & women starts on March 27th.  Questions about Monday yoga can be referred to Cathy Robertson & Tuesday yoga to Chris Kentner.

St. Paul’s UCW will be holding a Bridge and Dessert Evening on Thursday, April 5 at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $10.00 and are available from Judy Daniel (905-451-3713, nabejude@gmail.com) or from the Church Office.  This is always a fun evening.  Hope to see you there.

Easter Flowers and Symbols – Forms and Contributions can be placed in the offering plate in an envelope marked “Easter Flowers” or dropped off in the Church Office until Sunday March 25, 2018.

Congregational Meeting – will be held on Sunday April 8 immediately following the Service.  Please join us in Sanderson Hall.

Friday Folk Night – presenting “A Traditional Newfoundland Singer” on Friday March 23, 2018.  For tickets or more information, contact the Church Office or the Brampton Folk Club (www.bramptonfolk.ca, 647-233-3655).

Food Cupboard - the Food Cupboard is in need of individual pudding cups, juice boxes and canned tuna.

Jewelry – Please bring in any, and all jewelry (even damaged) or any jewelry beads, as Ruth and Norma begin preparing for upcoming events.

Macy’s is in need of fibrefill stuffing or pillows and terry cloth. Thank you for your support.
