The Environmental Ministry
The Environmental Ministry is an enthusiastic group of individuals who encourage sustainable choices in your church, home and community. We model, educate and provide assistance at St. Paul's in creating a passion for the environment.
Peace Garden:
The Environmental Ministry is presently undertaking a major project as we transform our small outdoor area on the south side of the church into a welcoming garden to serve several purposes. It will be an outdoor sanctuary for the children’s story time and nature lessons. It will provide an opportunity to grow vegetables for the Food Bank. Barbeques, coffee hour and other social gatherings can be held in this new garden setting. We also hope to attract some birds and butterflies with the addition of native plants and flowers.
We have received a grant from the TD Friends of the Environment to get started on this exciting project. We have the landscaping plans all ready in place. All ‘Green Thumbs’ welcome to assist in this project!
UPDATE ON THE PEACE GARDEN - The
Environmental Ministry is excited to announce that our new Peace Garden is thriving. With the help of a great team, vegetables are growing, perennials are blooming and our herb garden is also doing well. Come check it out.
We are planning to raise more
funds to complete the project later in the season. In the meantime, we would
encourage anyone wishing to make a personal donation to this project to use the
envelopes provided in the pews.
This is a great opportunity to reach out to
the downtown Brampton area by providing fresh produce for our local food banks
and developing a community garden which models the principles of
sustainability.
